Campus Coach Application Process

The Campus Coach Application Process within the First Priority Club app is a valuable tool to ensure all necessary forms have been completed and that your club can move forward as expected.

Before allowing Coaches to apply using this process, ensure that the system is set up and ready to use.

Setting up your location

  1. Log in to your First Priority Club account at app.firstpriority.club or in the app downloaded to your phone or tablet.
  2. At the top right corner, click on the three dots. That will open a menu.
  3. Click on “Settings.”
  4. Scroll down until you see your location name. There will be a list of items that you can update under that heading.
  5. First, click on “Coach application email.” A new window will pop up with a text box and text editing tools. Write helpful information and next steps that your Coaches must complete.
    1. This email will be sent to every person who applies to be a Campus Coach. It will be helpful to provide them with links to their application, background check, and any other relevant materials that these individuals can reference in their inbox.
  6. Click “Update.”
  7. The following item to review is the “Coach background check cycle.” This item is automatically set for a 3-year cycle, but you can change the frequency of your volunteers’ background checks by clicking on this item and entering a number based on the required renewal period.
  8. The last area to check is the “Coach child safety training.” Volunteers who work under First Priority of America are required to renew their child safety training every two years. This setting must always be on for these areas. If your Chapter does not require the child safety training item, you may turn this setting off.

Process for new Campus Coach applications

This portion of this guide will help you understand how this process was created and how the system works for all new Campus Coaches in your area.

  1. New Campus Coaches must sign up through the First Priority Club app. Have them download the app to their phone or visit app.firstpriority.club. They will use their cell phone number to create their profile and follow the form on their device to begin this process. Ensure that they select “Campus Coach” when prompted to set up their profile.
  2. Next, these individuals will appear in your app as new pending users.
    1. Click on “People” then “Pending” to view these profiles.
  3. Click on the Campus Coach who has just applied.
  4. Under the heading “Application process,” you will see four new items.
    1. Application Email – This is the email that was created when setting up your location in the previous section. Click on the three dots next to this item and select “Send Email.” You will also be given an option to resend the email if you need to remind them or if you have changed their email address. The District Director or Area Coordinator must initiate this part for each location.
    2. Application Form – Once you have received their application, click on the three dots next to this item and input the date when the application was received and approved. If your background check process takes place inside the FPoA Help Center, our staff will fill in this date when the application was received.
    3. Background Check – Same as above, use the three dots to open the new window to input the date when the background check was cleared. The FPoA Help Center staff will also complete this part if your process takes place in our office.
    4. Child Safety Training – After you receive a passing grade from the applicant for the Child Safety Training, you, or our staff, will need to input that date by using the three dots next to this line item as well.
    5. NOTE: Using correct dates in this process is crucial, as the system will make any account inactive that is due for a new background check or child safety training based on the settings of each location.
  5. Once a Campus Coach has cleared all necessary steps in the process, their profile can now be verified under the “Membership” status at the top of their profile screen.

Note: We aim to provide a safe environment for all students who use the First Priority Club app. We are now requiring that every Campus Coach using the First Priority Club app undergo a current and clear background check before being granted access to the app’s features. Access will be restricted until all necessary steps have been cleared.
