Chat Feature (Delete and Restrict)

The chat feature allows all club communication to take place in the same app as all resources and club meetings. This helps keep everyone on the same page at all times! However, we needed to build ways to keep chats clean and appropriate when necessary.

Deleting a Message

1. Find the message thread with a message that you want to delete.
2. Long press on the message bubble and a new menu will appear.
3. Click on “Delete message”

Deleting a message is one way to clean up a simple mistake or a one-time offense. However, you might need to remove repeat offenders without removing them from your club experience. You can restrict messages for one student or multiple students if needed.

Restrict Messages

In the chat thread:

1. Find the message thread with the comments that were made from the repeat offender.
2. Long press on the message bubble and a new menu will appear.
3. Click “Restrict messaging.”

In the person’s profile:

1. Click on the “People” tab on the left side of the screen.
2. Click on the persons profile that you want to restrict messages.
3. Scroll until you see “Restrict messages.”
4. Be sure to read the description below the title to ensure that the appropriate setting is made for the desired outcome.
