Equip Week
Reminder: Club time is designed to last 25-30 minutes. If your Club has less time, adapt the EPIC Guide to best fit what your Club specifically needs. Use the Holy Spirit’s guidance to discern what is best to cover during the time you have.
Resources Needed: Prayer Cards and The FOUR material
Verses to have ready: Ephesians 2:8-9; Matthew 16:15-16; John 1:12; and Joshua 24:15.
Happening This Month: Be sure to check out the calendar at the beginning of the EPIC Guide for any events that are coming up.
Key Takeaway: The Question Mark in The FOUR represents the decision to follow Jesus—an invitation to trust Him as Savior and commit to living in relationship with God. This decision requires us to acknowledge Jesus as the Messiah and to actively choose to follow Him, allowing His teachings to shape our lives.
Change it up! This month, consider using the Candy Cane Gospel Tool during one of your meetings or INVITE Week to effectively share the message of the Gospel. This is a great tool because it combines a simple, visual approach with powerful symbolism, making it easy for everyone to understand and remember the Gospel message. SPEAKER | TOOL TIME – 10 MINUTES
Supplies: The FOUR materials. (bracelets, cards, slides, etc)
Today, we are going to be talking about the fourth and final part of a Gospel Tool called The FOUR. The FOUR is made up of four symbols that represent each part of the Gospel story and give us a tangible way to explain and share the Gospel with others. When sharing the Gospel, you can use The FOUR to help guide your conversation and ensure that you are correctly and fully sharing the Gospel message. Let’s go ahead and talk about the fourth icon and what it means.
The Question Mark: Will you Choose to Follow Jesus?
The Question Mark represents a decision—your response to God’s love and what Jesus has done for you on the cross. God offers us the gift of salvation through Jesus, but it’s up to each of us to choose to follow Him. This means trusting Jesus as your Savior and committing your life to Him. It’s not about being perfect but about living in a relationship with God and letting Him guide your life.
Let’s take a moment to read a few verses about making this decision.
John 1:12 (NIV): “Yet to all who did receive him, to those who believed in His name, he gave the right to become children of God.”
Joshua 24:15 (NIV): “But if serving the Lord seems undesirable to you, then choose for yourselves this day whom you will serve… But as for me and my household, we will serve the Lord.”
Leader Tip: Break into small groups or have a large group discussion based on Club size. Give students 1-2 minutes per question based on Club time.
Discussion Questions:
- Have you made the decision to follow Jesus? If so, how has that decision impacted your life?
- What does it mean to fully trust Jesus with your life?
- How can you help someone else understand the importance of this decision?
The Question Mark reminds us that the Gospel is an invitation—a personal call to follow Jesus. If you haven’t already, take time to consider this decision and what it could mean for your life. Jesus is inviting you into a relationship with Him today. Will you say yes?
SPEAKER | DIG IN: WHAT WILL YOU DO WITH CHRIST NOW? – 10 MINUTES
As we dive into today’s lesson, let’s read a verse from the Bible from the book of Matthew.
Matthew 16:15-16 (NIV) – 15 “But what about you?” He asked. “Who do you say I am?” 16 Simon Peter answered, “you are the Messiah, the Son of the living God.”
As students, we are at a crucial stage of life—a time of growth, discovery, and decision-making. The question I want to ask you today is: What will you do with Christ now?
In the Scripture passage mentioned above, Jesus asked His disciples an essential question: “Who do you say that I am?” It was a moment of truth that required a personal response. And just as Jesus asked this question to His disciples, He asks it to each one of us today. What is your response? How will you engage with Jesus and the message of the Gospel in your life right now?
As students, we deal with many distractions, challenges, and pressures. Schoolwork, activities, friends, and goals can take up a lot of our time and energy. But in the middle of it all, it’s important to stop and think about Jesus Christ and what He means in our lives.
First, consider who Jesus is. He is not merely a historical figure or a wise teacher. He is the Messiah, the Son of the living God, as Peter boldly proclaimed. Jesus came to offer salvation, forgiveness, and eternal life to all who believe in Him. He came to restore our broken relationship with God and to provide us with abundant life both now and forever.
Knowing who Jesus is, the next question is, how will you respond? Will you choose to follow Him and make Him the center of your life? Will you allow His teachings to guide your thoughts, decisions, and actions? Will you seek to deepen your relationship with Him through prayer, studying His Word, and connecting with other believers?
Remember, following Christ is not a one-time decision but a lifelong journey. It requires surrender, commitment, and a willingness to grow in faith. It means aligning your values and goals with His purposes and seeking His guidance in every aspect of your life.
As students, we have a unique opportunity to be a light for Christ in our schools, on our teams, and around our friends. We can demonstrate His love, compassion, and truth through our words and actions. We can share the hope we have found in Him with our classmates, friends, and teachers.
So, I encourage you to take a moment today and reflect on the question: What will you do with Christ now? Will you respond to His invitation and choose to follow Him wholeheartedly? Will you allow His love to shape your relationships, your ambitions, and your future? Will you share the Good News with those around you?
We pray that your journey with Christ is one of transformation, purpose, and joy. We hope you find strength and wisdom in His presence as we navigate the challenges of student life. And may your response to the question of what you will do with Christ now be a resounding “I will follow Him, for He is my Lord and Savior.”
Leader Tip: Break into small groups or have a large group discussion based on Club size. Give students 1-2 minutes per question based on Club time.
Discussion Questions:
- How can you practically incorporate Christ into your daily student life? What specific actions or habits can you develop to deepen your relationship with Him?
- In what ways can you be a light for Christ in your school or university? Are there any opportunities to share the Gospel or demonstrate His love and compassion to your peers?
- Reflecting on your current priorities and ambitions, how can you align them with God’s purposes for your life? How can you seek His guidance in your school work and future plans?
HOST | PRAYER TIME – 5 MINUTES (OR TIME REMAINING)
Have Student Leaders pass out Prayer Cards.
As we wrap up, think about the people in your life who need the hope and love of Christ. Write their names down and make it a point to pray for them daily this week.
Give them time to fill out Prayer Cards.
Allow 2-3 minutes for students to share prayer requests and pray for one another.
Closing prayer suggestion: God, we thank you for the privilege of meeting together and growing in faith.
Let us now pause to silently lift up the names of those in our lives who are searching for you. (Pause for silent prayer.)
We lift up those who are searching for hope and truth but don’t yet know you as their Savior. Use us as your hands and feet to show them the way to your love. In Jesus name, Amen.
HOST | ANNOUNCEMENTS – 1 MINUTE
Next week is PREPARE Week , and we’d love for you to share your Faith Story! If you’ve been preparing yours since last month, let a Club Leader know—you could be one of two people sharing. Whether it’s a short micro story or a full testimony, we’ll help you feel ready and confident.
Announcement suggestions:
- This is the place for the Club to make any announcements for the upcoming week and or month. This is a great spot to add Student Leaders to your team and give responsibilities to them. It is also the place to check on the upcoming school schedule for days off or breaks (your Faculty Sponsor is a great resource for this)
Leader Notes:
